What json & data tools cover
JSON is the default format for APIs and configuration, and most of the time spent on it is mundane: an API response arrives as one unreadable line, a config file has a stray comma, or you need to know where inside a large document a value lives.
The JSON Formatter handles those jobs in one place. It formats and minifies, reports syntax errors with the exact line and column, shows the data as a tree with the JSON path to any value, and warns about duplicate keys, which are legal in some parsers but usually a bug.
Common tasks
- Pretty-print a minified API response so it can be read.
- Find and fix the syntax error that makes a document invalid.
- Minify JSON before embedding it in a request or a config.
- Find the path to a deeply nested value, or spot duplicate keys.
Who uses these tools
- Backend and frontend developers debugging API responses
- QA engineers inspecting payloads
- Anyone who edits JSON configuration by hand
When to use each tool
- JSON Formatter
- Use it whenever JSON is unreadable, invalid or too large to scan by eye.

Frequently asked questions
- Does formatting change my data?
- No. Formatting only changes whitespace. Keys, values and their order are left as they are.
- Is the JSON I paste uploaded?
- No. The JSON Formatter works in your browser, so your document is not sent to DevCraftKit.
- Can it fix invalid JSON?
- It locates the problem precisely and can suggest recoveries for common mistakes such as trailing commas, but you should review any automatic fix before using it.
- Are YAML, XML or comparison tools available?
- Not yet. They are planned and shown in the tool directory as not available.
